SiteToolSet LLC was founded in 2003 original with the focus of building web sites primarily for non-profits with an emphasis on churches.  Along the way we found a great new open source tool called DotNetNuke.  We started building web sites and custom modules on the platform and have since expanded our business focus to include custom web application development, web site design, strategy work, our own library of software and much more.

Philosophy

When Noel Jerke started the company, already a successful veteran of the 90s Internet boom, he had three driving principals for the services offered by the company:

  • Make technology easy - most non-techies dread working with their technical teams - long delivery times, poor communication and general frustration
  • No Nickel and Diming - The goal is to build long term successful relationships, not get every last penny possible out of our clients pockets.  When we are wrong we are wrong - we step up admit and fix it and don't charge for it.
  • Be Part of the Team - We want to fit in where our clients need us when they need us.  We have no problem working internal IT teams, executives or who ever.  And we realize that over the life of a client relationship our relationship may change and evolve as our client's needs evolve.

In short - we want customers to have a great experience with us and know that we have their back and will work hard to "make it happen".

Noel Jerke - Founder and CEO

Noel is an entrepreneurial, business-minded, and results-focused techie with a passion and vision for web technology. He has worked with all types of clients spanning from small businesses to clients such as Dell, Mary Kay, Sharp Electronics and more. His expertiese includes:

  • Software development
  • Technical project management
  • Social networking
  • Strategic planning
  • Technical architecture

Noel loves to work on and think about the web – everything from strategy to databases to n-tier coding. He enjoys thinking about analyzing and tackling technology problems. Below is a sampling of Noel's experience.

1. Jamba Juice – While working at PRTM, a management consulting company, Noel was involved in a two pronged-project. The first task was to select an ERP system for the company. The second task was to design a web portal for their stores and corporate offices to connect. We ended up building a complete proof of concept for them, based on a lot of interviewing, functional analysis and impact assessments.

2. Mary Kay – Mary Kay takes in a huge order volume at the end of each month when all those Avon sales people submit their orders. The challenge was scaling up their technical architecture to handle that growing volume. An multi-level n-tier architecture was designed to handle the significant spike in the web application usage.

3. Dell – The big kahuna of e-commerce. Noel was involved in analyzing their MS SQL Server infratructure to see how down time could be reduced and scale up performance. Microsoft sponsored the project. A multi-pronged plan was implemented to assess everything from hardware to .net code and its impact on the platform.

4. Sharp Electronics – Noel has been working with the wonderful folks at Sharp for years now. We have worked together to build some fantastic extranet web sites for their dealer network for multi function printers, point of sale systems and projectors. We are currently working on the next generation of the web sites to bring even more web based tools to connect the dealers and Sharp.

5. Hurricane Ike – Ok well, Noel didn’t do work for the actual Hurricane. In support of Asevotech, we augmented the staff to rapidly (and we mean rapidly) scale a disaster management system for the level of clean up required by Ike. This presented many technical challenges including storing over a million images in SQL server. Managing scanning and data entry across a wide geographical region and much more.

6. Milliman – Just think lots and lots and lots of 401K data being accesses by lots and lots of people and lots and lots and lots of financial calculations happening at once. There were many challenges involved in continuing to develop and scale the system.

7. PAK Foods – In conjunction with Mike Nelson at WSI we designed and built an employee payroll and time system focused on the fast food industry. It has actually evolved into a mini-erp type system for their stores including some reporting analysis and more.

SiteToolSet.com Launches 702HomeFurishings.com(www.702homefurnishings.com)
Dallas, Texas – December 3rd, 2009

It’s always exciting to see a small business owner, located in Las Vegas, Nevada, expand their business to the World Wide Web.  This site was developed using the user friendly content management system, Joomla.  It is also powered by the VirtueMart shopping cart for the management of products, sales, shipping and tax and specials.

We worked with our client to plan the site from beginning concept through to complete launch.  That included design, hosting, configuration and assisting with content loading.  We also provided training on the Joomla and VirtueMart tools.

The ease of use provided by both VirtueMart shopping cart and Joomla content management system offers for easy content updates for our client.  We also created a custom Monthly Specials page that integrates with VirtueMart and builds the Monthly Specials page automatically.

Contact SiteToolSet.com today to see how the Joomla & VirtueMart tools can assist your e-commerce needs.
